The Beholder
Bounder & Cad / Screensaver Film
Project Description:
Screensaver's first short film, The Beholder is a light-hearted contemplation of one man's perception of beauty. Adam - a City failure now living on London's streets - shares the company of the world's greatest philosophical minds as he struggles to grasp the troublesome relationship between our hearts and eyes, and the seemingly inexplicable decisions people make when looking for love. Our scholar's conclusions are thrown into disarray upon the arrival of a mysterious new muse, and it soon becomes apparent that mother knows best. Written and directed by Aidan Elliot and produced by Lisa Cullen. Starring Adam Straker in his debut film role; Alex Weaver, who stars in the BBC's flagship drama Egypt in October; and Barber Ali - one of Britain's most recognisable character actors, whose credits include Dirty Pretty Things (2002) and his latest release Red Mercury (2005).
